Control Tags
Control tags are organization-defined colored labels for controlling access of resources and users.
Navigation: Admin hub > Control Tags (or go to /admin/control-tags)
View Control Tags
- On the Control Tags tab, the default view shows the Active sub-tab.
- The table lists each tag with:
- Name (with colored dot)
- Description
- Created date
- Created by user
- ⋯ actions menu
- Switch to the Archived sub-tab to see archived tags.
Tags originating from an upstream remote show a tooltip instead of an actions menu and cannot be edited locally.
Create a Control Tag
- Click New Control Tag in the top-right.
- In the dialog:
- Name — enter the tag display name (required).
- Description — optional description text.
- Display color — enter a hex color value or use the color picker. A preview of the tag with the chosen color is shown.
- Click Create.
Edit a Control Tag
- Click the ⋯ menu on a tag row.
- Select Edit.
- Update the Name, Description, or Display color.
- Click Update.
Archive a Control Tag
- On the Active sub-tab, click the ⋯ menu on a tag row.
- Select Archive.
- Confirm the action.
Archived tags are no longer available for new assignments.
Restore an Archived Control Tag
- Switch to the Archived sub-tab.
- Click the ⋯ menu on the archived tag row.
- Select Restore.
- Confirm the action.
The tag returns to the Active list and becomes available for assignment again.
Assign Control Tags to Users
- Switch to the Control Tags Permission tab.
- The table shows all organization users with their currently assigned tags.
- Click the tags area for a user to open the Edit Control Tags dialog.
- Select or deselect tags using the multi-select list.
- Optionally provide a reason for the change.
- Click Save.
You can also assign tags directly from the Users page via the Control Tags column.
